The neighbourhood around the Prince and Meghan Harry’s new home is experiencing an increase in crime, especially high-value property crime. Police are installing license plate scanning cameras in the area to combat the growing problem. The crime is happening both within the area and outside. Many crimes are being committed by sophisticated robbery gangs from outside the region.

    Crenshaw

The Crenshaw, LA neighborhood where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry live has had its fair share of high-value property crime. According to police, the area has seen 47 reported crimes in the past week, including a murder, robbery, and multiple drug-related misdemeanors. In addition to crimes involving high-value properties, Crenshaw has also been the scene of numerous car thefts, disturbing the peace, and other crimes.

Crenshaw is also a different kind of neighbourhood than Kensington, where Prince Harry lives. The British tabloids have suggested that Meghan Markle grew up in a Los Angeles gang-ridden neighborhood. The actress and model’s mother, Doria Ragland, lives in Crenshaw. The neighbourhood is known for palm trees, and her home is in a storied hillside district.

The press has also been critical of the royal couple. There have been racial overtones in comment pieces and headlines, which have made Meghan Markle the subject of racial attacks.

    Prince Harry’s neighbourhood

The Royal couple’s new neighbourhood has experienced a dramatic rise in crime. The police have installed license plate scanning cameras, a response to the rising number of high-value property crimes in the neighbourhood. The rise in crime has been blamed in part on sophisticated robbery gangs operating outside the area. The new cameras can help the police solve crimes.

The Sussexes have reportedly shown interest in several properties in the neighbourhood, but they’re not making any official decisions just yet. The Sussexes are reportedly open to private offers. The couple purchased their current home in June 2020 from Russian businessman Sergey Grishin, and are still open to private offers for it. The rumours are further fuelled by the recent installation of license plate scanning cameras near their mansion. The Montecito Association said the cameras were erected after the neighbourhood had seen an increase in high-value property crime, particularly by out-of-area thieves.

The couple’s property was targeted by thieves on two occasions in May – on May 19th and May 31st – when the royal couple were away for their wedding anniversary. The couple’s property has also received at least six security alert calls in the past 14 months. The calls have been logged as property crimes, trespassers, and suspicious circumstances.
